The North American Seaboard has been transformed by the joint forces of globalization, regionalization and containerization. Since the mid 1990s ports show a process of traffic concentration among largest port gateways. Hinterland access, the configuration of shipping line networks and supply chain management are the most significant factors driving the process at ports. Port competition is not determined by a single factor, but by several: port infrastructure, liner service (frequency of services), the availability of distribution centers and the market size that can be reached within 24 hours. Participants in this session will learn trends in ports, the forecasted growth in ports and have the ...

5000 LLITNs supplied by Against Malaria Foundation arrived on the 21st February 2008 for free distribution in 44 villages from 10 subdivisions of Cameroon situated in the forest region where malaria occurs throughout the year, the main vector of the parasite Plasmodium falciparum being Anopheles gambiae. Studies in these villages had shown the presence of more than 200 mosquitoes per night per house making it very difficult due to being disturbed by the mosquito bites throughout the night.
The Distribution Tractor T 225 D is mostly used for shunting semi-trailers in distribution and logistic centres. The long wheel base of 3,500 mm provides considerably more space between semi-trailer and driver's cabin. Brake and power supply can be connected easily. Safe, comfortable and efficient performance is ensured. Special tyres provide the required low 5th wheel height.

The Ocean is essential to life on Earth. Most of Earth's water is stored in the ocean. Although 40 percent of Earth's population lives within, or near coastal regions- the ocean impacts people everywhere. Without the ocean, our planet would be uninhabitable. This animation helps to convey the importance of Earth's oceanic processes as one component of Earth's interrelated systems. This animation uses Earth science data from a variety of sensors on NASA Earth observing satellites to measure physical oceanography parameters such as ocean currents, ocean winds, sea surface height and sea surface temperature. These measurements, in combination with atmospheric measurements such as surface air temperature, precipitation and clouds can help scientists understand the ocean's impact on weather an...

2013-03-19 - M3MSat is a tele-detection satellite, and its mission is to demonstrate and test the technology of three instruments. M3MSat will orbit around Earth at an altitude of approximately 650 kilometres and travel over all Canadian waters approximately ten times a day. The satellite is an advance in the monitoring of Canadian waters, as its position above Earth will allow it to cover a much larger area than ground sensors to capture AIS signals.
